In Cognizance 2024(National Level ECOFEST at St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad), our two
student teams bagged 4 th and 5 th position in event named ‘Secret Society’. Team 1 consisting
of Aashvi Sankhala and Sanjana Virwani secured the 4 th position. Team 2 consisting of Hani
Rajput and Priyal Padhiyar secured the 5th position.
TAKSHAK 2024 WINNERS

Students of Faculty of Commerce participated in Takshak, an inter College Management fest organized by H.L. College of Commerce. Our students participated in various events like Dalal Street, Business Plan and Beg Borrow Steal and secured the 1st runners up and 2nd runners up position in Dalal street. Faculty of commerce was also awarded the trophy of overall championship.

HLCC MOCK MUN 2024

Students of Faculty of Commerce participated in the 10th edition of HLCC Mock Model United Nations, renowned as Gujarat’s preeminent mock diplomatic forum, attended by over 300 participants from all over Gujarat. Three delegates from FOC garnered acclaim. Our student Ansh Balani was bestowed with a Special Mention in the General Assembly (GLA) committee, Aastha Shah earned accolades as the Best Photographer within the International Press committee, while Vansh Chansoria received recognition with a Verbal Mention from the Lok Sabha committee.

Faculty of Commerce demonstrated its prowess at the Moneta National Level Inter Collegiate Financial Market Event organized by R.A. Podar College of Commerce in Mumbai from December 6 th to 9 th 2023, emerging as the 1st Runner-Up. The competition witnessed participation from renowned colleges across Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Gujarat and other regions. Various reputed colleges from all over Gujarat took part in the competition. Students from various institutions competed to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in several Intellectual, Business, Sports, Cultural, Arts and Creativity, Thrilling and Food & Fun Zones such as Poster Presentation on a well researched subject; Youth Parliament; Brand Quiz; Business Plan; Financial Planning; Stock Mind; Box Cricket; Sack Race; Stand Up comedy; Nail Painting; Reel/Meme Creation; Master Chef; and so on. The event provided students with an excellent opportunity to network with industry leaders, receive practical information and showcase their abilities. More than 80 students sportingly participated in the entire two days event. The students were provided guidance by Dr. Krupa Bhatt and Dr. Devyani Chatterji.

WINNER OF STATE LEVEL COMMERCE IDOL CHAMPIONSHIP
Abhay Bhatt from Faculty of Commerce brings glory to the college by winning State Level Commerce Idol Championship organised by City C.U. Shah Commerce College. Competition was having different rounds like Objectives exam, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Students from all over state participated in the competition in huge number. Abhay Bhatt Stood 1 st in the competition and won Trophy and Certificate. Abhay Bhatt was trained and mentored by Dr. Bhavin Bhatt for this competition.

TENNIS ACHIEVEMENT

Our institute participated in ‘COGNIZANCE 2022 – A CHRONONAUTICAL VOYAGE’ (Economics Festival) organized by St. Xaviers College, Ahmedabad. Cognizance 2022 had some wonderful events such as Policy-cipher, Red Nation, Ad mania, NFT Minting, Palter’s Pot, Foragers, Avengers Assemble and Gigglonomics. Our students Abhay Bhatt, Daksh Chaudhary, Mahima Sharma and Arth Trivedi secured the first position in Policy-Cipher and Ad Mania.

Date: 24th and 25th January 2022
Our institute participated in the event ‘Image 2022’ organised by the GLS ( J P Shah ) Institute of Business Administration [GLS BBA]. Image 2022 had some wonderful events such as Inventopreneur, Market Mayhem, Movie Tales, Grid Quest, HR 360 and many more. Students from our institute participated in all the events and even gained a victory. Faculty of Commerce SMPIC secured the First Runners-up in Inventoprenuer in which Sumit Kotadiya, Priyam Sheth and Daksh Chansouriya participated and won prize money of Rs.5000. The second podium in Movie Tales was won by Mahima Sharma and Chanchal Lalwani with prize money of Rs.1000. Mariah Akhunji succeeded in Grid Quest with the prize money of Rs.1000.
WINNER OF ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION BY YUVAK VIKAS TRUST
Our student Mariah Akhunji secured the second position in the Essay Writing competition organized by Yuvak Vikas Trust in which 218 students from 36 colleges participated. She wrote an essay on ‘How would you search for Peace following the path of violence?’

The Award was presented on 11th December, 2019 at Hotel Grand Hyatt in Bangkok, Thailand. The award was received by Ms. Chandani Kapadia, COO, GLS University, Dr. Ashwin Purohit, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Dr. Marzun Jokhi, Vice Principal, Faculty of Commerce. International Brand Consulting Corporation, USA conducted a consumer survey in more than 20 countries of Asia & based on the brand research report, the brands have been selected for the awards.

GLS University celebrates Research Day in the month of January every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the eminent Lawyer and a great educationalist Late Shri I M Nanavati. The fourth Research Day Celebrations was held on the 18th January 2020.
- Our Faculty Member Dr. Devyani A. Chatterji received SHRI I M NANAVATI BEST RESEARCH PAPER AWARD 2020 for the research paper titled as “An EOQ Model with Exponential Amelioration and Two Parametric Weibull Deterioration” in Commerce category.
- SHRI I M NANAVATI BEST RESEARCH PAPER AWARD 2020 was conferred on Our Faculty Member Dr. Rupa A. Pariyani for the research paper titled as “Naga- Mandala: An Ordeal of Chastity” in Humanities & Arts category.
They were awarded with a certificate, a memento and a cash prize Rs. 5,000/-.
