I am Qualified Chartered Accountant adding value to TP Arena, articulate with extensive knowledge in transfer pricing (tax), financial accounting, statutory and Tax audits, domestic tax, finalization of financial statements, certificates and various reports. At present, I am working with B S R & Co. LLP (a network firm of KPMG) having transfer pricing as my core service line. It gives me immense pleasure to express gratitude towards Faculty of Commerce SMPIC because faculties here have enriched my skills by providing balanced blend of theoretical concepts and actual implementation of the same in real world. My college felicitated comprehensive growth by organizing numerous events. I’d also like to mention that when I stood 2nd in 7th State Level Accounting Talent Hunt organized by SMPIC, it amplified my interest in accounting field and gave me a push to clear chartered accountancy course. Thank you very much SMPIC!!

I am Riya Shah, currently a Semester 5 student at Faculty of Commence SMPIC, simultaneously pursuing CA. In Nov 2021, I appeared for both groups of CA Intermediate in which I secured AIR 42. I am beholden to my alma mater for extending immense support and encouragement for my overall growth and development. I also thank all the faculty members for providing their valuable guidance and motivation. I could achieve this success due to intense hard work and consistency supplemented with continuous assistance and wishes from the college.

I cleared my CIMA level-2 in the first attempt and secured All India 3rd Rank. This wouldn’t have been possible without SMPIC (Faculty of Commerce) GLS University. The faculty members and teachers were the ones who showed me this path. I got to know about this course from the college itself. The teachers helped me at every stage and they were always my pillar of strength. Their guidance and blessings helped me reach where I am today. They were always there to support me. Whenever I had even the slightest doubt, they replied me in no time. I’ll be forever grateful to Faculty of Commerce SMPIC and I hope I’ll continue to make my alma mater proud.

I was really young when I decided that becoming a Chartered Accountant would be a part of my journey. And often, when one embarks on a journey, it’s not just him but the ecosystem around him that sails through the journey. Today, I can proudly say that everyone at Faculty of Commerce- SMPIC was an essential part of that ecosystem. They helped me to manage my time efficiently enabling me to balance my college and CA studies. Timely GLS sports meets energized and refreshed me. I cleared CA – Final exams in the first attempt with an All India Rank, something which I don’t think would have been possible without the support of my family, friends & faculties. My everyday motivation was, “When you’re giving up, somebody else is still going.” For me, becoming a Chartered Accountant was not a destination itself, but just a stop en-route the destination and this journey was not easy, but it was worth it.

My learning experience with Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC), GLS University is perfectly aligned with the goals of my career. Though there is never an end to learning, it has contributed in giving me substantial amount of valuable education to step into industry with abundant confidence and knowledge. Keeping up with my studies for a professional degree (CA) as well as Graduation B.Com.(Hons.) was actively supported by my college SMPIC. Even during the pandemic, there were progressive steps taken by the University like conducting constant online lectures, Revision lectures and timely completion of Exams as well as organising webinars and competitions through virtual platforms to make sure that the students’ learning did not go at loss.

I pursued graduation and Masters in commerce from S. M. Patel Institute of Commerce (SMPIC) , GLS. SMPIC strives for all round development of its students – from academics to extracurricular activities. I remember professors were deeply involved in our professional and personal development and they pushed our limits to achieve more. The environment in college was very conducive for success. Along with my graduation at SMPIC, I also completed the CA course with All India Rank 38 in CA Intermediate and All India rank 40 in CA Final. Success has No Limits , my College created a strong academic base, honed multi facet skill set and developed my personality to prepare me fully for journey ahead. Collectively, this helped me to crack CAT easily and secure admission at IIM Bangalore (Batch 2022). I would always cherish my college days and its invaluable contribution in my life.

I don’t owe my Academic or Professional success to my destiny, courage, luck, belief, confidence, or fortune. I owe it to the wonderful guidance, encouragement, and support provided to me by the faculties and friends at the Faculty of Commerce [SMPIC], GLS University. The inspiration, support, and teachings not only helped me in my academic career but also in cracking CAT and getting admission into IIM Kashipur [Batch 2022]. All the events and activities conducted around the year by the college provided me with ample opportunities to learn much-needed skills like management, decision-making and leadership. I owe my admission at IIM Kashipur to the various workshops conducted by SMPIC to help us develop the most needed interpersonal and communication skills which helped me to get through the GD (group discussion) and PI (personal interview) round. There are two types of colleges, one which teaches their students what the syllabus dictates and the other which goes beyond the coursework to teach its students things that life dictates. Thank you, Faculty, of Commerce [SMPIC], for being the latter.

I am an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad (2019-21 Batch), a Chartered Accountant and an alumni of S.M. Patel Institute of Commerce (SMPIC). I believe that SMPIC has played a pivotal role for making me what I am today. Clearing my CA Exams with All India Rank 11 in CA IPCC and AIR 3 in CA Final was just a dream came true. I thank my Alma matter for providing me with the platform to showcase skills at national level in the form of access to national competitions as well as experienced faculty members who helped me to crack my CAT and secure admission in IIM- Ahmedabad. I totally believe that exposure with real life challenges in various events, activities and education pedagogy faced during college life made my roots so strong that today I find myself confident to face any situation.

Studying in SMPIC has proven to be the best for a student like me doing CS along with graduation as our college had the Curriculum that prepared us according to the market needs and structure which eventually helped us with our professional development. Apart from that we were given ample opportunities to improve our skill sets by motivating us to participate in National Level competitions like MONETA and other Management related competitions. With SMPIC we could create a perfect balance between academics and co-curricular activities. The teachers here guided me throughout my journey because of which I could score in CS FOUNDATION an ALL INDIA RANK 21st while standing 5th in Ahmedabad and now with their well wishes and support I have been able to clear my Executive as well.

Being an introvert, it becomes quite challenging for one to showcase one’s thoughts and talents, and this is where SMPIC played a crucial role in my preparation for CAT and getting into IIM Udaipur [Batch 2022]. The three years at the college had been nothing short of the roller coaster ride. All the academic assignments, exam prep, and study groups gave me the experience of both working with people and leading them. In addition to all this, all the club activities, participating in various events and competitions, organizing a few, informal discussions, networking, and sports activities shaped my personality. What I saw was a steep learning curve for me. I never imagined that I would be able to crack the entrance exams this well if it were not for the support provided by the college faculties and mentors. The discussion on topics that I was unacquainted with, with Professors, helped me understand the issues and proved helpful later. The career counselling session, the etiquettes class, and the session on Group Discussions and Personal Interviews and feedback helped me improve my preparation for the Interviews, and many of those things came in handy during my years at IIM.

Pursuing professional course like Chartered Accountancy along with Graduation course was a tough nut to crack in the beginning. But SMPIC was always there to have my back. Forever motivating words from all the professors and entire team of SMPIC helped in keeping my spirits high and I was fortunate enough to hold University Ranks throughout all the semesters. I am lucky being SMPICite and for getting so many diverse opportunities through various competitions and seminars that helped me enrich my overall profile. I still appreciate and value the unconditional help from all the Professors on as well as off-campus always. It is because of the blessings of such kind mentors that I can proudly announce myself as an IIM AHMEDABAD ( BATCH 2022) student today.

I’m obliged being a part of Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC), since the starting of my graduation I opted for Professional course CIMA. Securing All India Rank 2 at P1 Management Accounting Level & All India Rank 3 for Case Study Exam at Operational Level was only possible with constant motivation of faculty members and support of the Director Sir. Perfect blend of classroom learning and practical approaches in the form of various curricular & co curricular activities shaped my career and helped me to stay at the top of the game. I also got the opportunity to become the part of students core team of a national level management competition INNOVISION organized by Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC). I had many opportunities and challenges which not only helped me in being confident but also shaped my managerial skills.

College fulfilled the space of co-curricular activities by offering opportunities in different competitions and sports events. Faculty members are very supportive and their teaching style helped me a lot in connecting practical life with my studies. (Hons) played a key role to achieve success in my professional career. I will miss my college days.

I bestow my gratitude upon Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC), GLS University for providing me such a wonderful opportunity to be part of B. Com.(Hons). My vision in the first instance to join this institute was not just to be called a graduate but a leader who is capable of adopting incredible fast changes occurring in the business and economic world which have an increasing mobility of people and competitiveness where to stand out is indeed not exception but a necessity which my college and their most humble and supporting Professors and Director sir who are more to like a family made it possible. I was pursuing Chartered Accountancy along with my graduation but with the help of the guidance and support of my faculty members, I was not only able to top the college but also secured AIR – 1 in CA CPT level and also was the first runner up in the Asia’s largest finance and economics Competition “Moneta” which was organized along with end number of events by my university. I was also fortunate to be a part of an International Immersion Program of my university in collaboration with Curtin University (Dubai-Australia) which aimed to provide students an international exposure of being part of the global education system and to acquaint them to versatility of education being delivered in foreign universities, to know their diverse cultures and lifestyles. I thank my alma mater for equipping me with the talent and skill set to be professionally successful.

My college, Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC) was very supportive in the journey to my success. I faced many challenges in this journey but the only thing which kept me going was the trust everyone had in me. Faculty members supported me in all possible manner like teaching the same thing again after college hours to us which we had missed due to our classes. My college was also the only place where I used to hang out and chill with friends and participated in various activities and competitions organized by the college for the overall development of students. I’m much obliged by the way they supported me in my CA study. I heartily want to thank my parents, friends and all well wishers who helped and supported me to accomplish my dream.

The faculty and teachers who are extremely well qualified and competent in their field were also very supportive in my endeavor. The college and university exams are also scheduled in a manner so that they do not coincide with our examinations. The college syllabus is also very relevant and practical, which was equally helpful in my studies of CA Intermediate. Besides academics, wonderful co-curricular activities are also organized to keep the students engaged. Various activities are related to both sports as well as others.
