Para-academic Achievements 2017-18

• • Our student Manna Patel of Semester 2 is an International Women’s U19 swimmer, ranked No.1 in India. She has won many international medals and awards. She is a Government of Gujarat Sponsored player under the ‘Shaktidoot’ project.

• • Ujjval Shah of Semester 2 travelled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on bicycle completing 3500 kms. in 27 days for spreading awareness about health and fitness across India.

• • Dhruvil Kesvani of Semester 2 is a National level Speed Skating player with 8 National level Gold, 42 State level Gold and several silver and bronze medals.

Faculty of Commerce Participated in “Be a Banker” Organized by Thakur College Of Science& Commerce, Kandivali, Mumbai on 7th February 2018. We won 5 Prizes as follows:

1. Avinash Daryani won 1st Prize in Elocution Competition
2. Avinash Daryani Titled as “Mr. Banker 2018” (1st Prize)
3. Yuvrajsinh Ramlavat and Bhavesh Rupela won 2nd Prize in Business Quiz.
4. Dhruvin Shah, Vipin Jain, Hemang Prajapati, Sahil Sadhwani, Yuvrajsinh Ramlavat won 2nd Prize in Football.
5. Sahil Sadhwani won the Best CL Trophy

Other Participants who reached up to finals were Karan Raghani, Kunal Gidwani, Ashish Motwani, Harsh Anandani, Hitesh Anandani .Our institute was felicitated with token of appreciation.

Faculty of Commerce performed ‘Ashwathama’, directed by Dhrunad Kamble on 7th February, 2018, Wednesday in the finale organized by the prestigious State Level Indian National Theatre, Mumbai and Gujarat Samachar Inter-College Drama Competition. In the Semi-finals, 15 colleges from all over Gujarat performed. In the finale, Parikshit Tamalia was awarded Best Actor- Third Prize. Faculty of Commerce participated in PROTSAHAN – A National Level Management cum Cultural Festival organized by Centre for Management Studies and Research & V.M. Patel Institute of Management, Ganpat University on 3rd and 4th February, 2018. Our college won maximum prizes out of 68 contingents. Our college won trophies, certificates as well as cash prizes. The winners are as under:

1. Heena Navani and Avinash Daryani were 1st Runners Up in PRARAMBH (product launch).
2. Bhavesh Rupela and Yuvrajsinh Ramlavat were 2nd Runners up in BUSINESS QUIZ competing against 24 colleges.
3. Jay Shah, Kshama Rathod, Janvi Patel were 2nd Runners Up in ONE MINUTE CHALLENGE.
4. Aamir Tirmizi, Priyal Sharma and Naushin Patel were 2nd Runners Up in T-SHIRT PAINTING.
5. Overall best performance Trophy.

Faculty of Commerce participated in IMAGE 2018-A National Level Management Fest organized by GLS University’s Faculty of Business Administration (GLSBBA) on 29th and 30thJanuary, 2018. Many participants from our college qualified for Finals. Winners were awarded certificates and trophies. The winners are as follows:

1. Hardik Jain, Parv Shah, Arhan Shah, Udit Bengani, Hitesh Anandani and Mitesh Chaudhari won 1st Prize in LETZ BRAND.
2. Avinash Daryani, Ashish Motwani, Laveena Assudani and Hanisha Bachani won 1st Runners up in REALITY BYTES (Reporters Category) where Avinash Daryani was the reporter.
3. Hanisha Bachani, Ashish Motwani, Rahul Talreja and Avinash Daryani won 1st Runners up in PUBLICITE CRITIQUE (Ad Analysis).

Six days long Sabarmati festival season -2 kicked off on 17th January 2018 amidst great galore. Faculty of Commerce actively participated in various events organised and won prizes. It was a matter of great honour for Team FOC to perform in the Finale on the bank of historic river Sabarmati amidst the cheer of large audience. Faculty of Commerce folk dance team performed “Khushboo Gujarat Ni” showcasing the flavour of different folk dances of Gujarat mesmerized the audience with the co-ordination, energy and enthusiasm. The team won the numero uno position and the cash prize of Rs.11, 000/-in presence of renowned dancer Master Marzi Pestonji. The performance was choreographed by Dr.Kruti Paritosh, Kuldeep Shukla and Khushboo Shukla. The performers of folk dance were Megha Nihlani, Purvi Bhavsar, Hinal Shah, Bhumi Patel, Devarshree Vora, Shriya Patel, Samruddhi Kavalanekar, Hitali Shah, Tanvi Trivedi, Harita Mistry , UnnatiPandya, Maitry Trivedi, Prapti Thakkar, Utsav Solanki, Jaimil Joshi, Nidhip Shah, Tapan Maheshwari, Heet Malde, Sachin Gaud,Mayuri Solanki ,Mansi Chhapia, Karan Raghani, Bhavyang Shah, Drashti Bhatt and Kruti Paritosh.

In solo Western Dance competition Richa Dayani from Semester 2 of Faculty of Commercesecured the second runner up position and cash prize of Rs.5,000/-

Faculty of Commerce participated in national level financial management festival MONETA 2017 organized by R.A Podar College of Commerce, Mumbai from 20th December 2017 to 23rd December 2017. 36 colleges across India participated in the competition. Faculty of Commerce participated in all competitions. FOC won awards in 7 competitions and bagged 2ND runner up position in overall performances. The institute was awarded Rs.20,000/- cash prize as well certificates.

The 3rd annual GLS University Sports Celebration was held from 15th December 2017 to 29th December 2017 wherein around 1450 students from different institutes participated in individual and group events. Faculty of Commerce hosted Cricket and Valedictory Function of the 3rd GLS University I. M. Nanavati Inter-College Sports Celebration 2017-18. Consecutively third time FOC got the overall championship.
